Bar coding

RAP offers a feature where permits, user identity cards and tag cards can optionally be bar-coded.
Permit bar-coding allows any permit to be scanned in seconds and the status checked or updated.
User Identity Cards allow the user to sign in with a single scan. Their profile (name, competencies, etc.) can instantly be checked. It also makes shift changeover and contractor sign in very quick. This is especially useful when you want to accurately locate and identify all personnel on your plant
Optionally, equipment tag sheets can be printed with barcodes. This allows users to scan the equipment to ensure they are working on the correct kit.

Language

This is a feature unique to RAP where not only are the screens translated into the language of choice, but so is the knowledge contained within the risk assessment database.  Not only does this mean you can share knowledge from one culture to another, you can also carry out risk assessments in one language and view them in another. Ideal for when you wish to set standards across borders.  RAP along with the entire risk assessment knowledge base, is now able to run in over 20 languages

Remote use (WAP, PDA and Tablet PCs)

RAP allows remote devices to connect to the system. Users can login with their normal name and password. They can then view permits and enter gas tests as well as sign for various items. This is especially useful for working on remote pipelines where work may continue as soon as they sign for completion, rather than waiting for them to return to the plant control room or issuing station.  This is the first step in enabling RAP to run other maintenance systems (drawings, work orders, etc) thereby ensuring complete alignment with all Control of Work processes.
