Training

We provide a full training service of the system when it is installed on site by our specialist trainers who all have 20+ years of process experience – as well as having used RAP for 6 years. They therefore not only have the ability to teach software skills, but more importantly they have the ability to put these skills into context of carrying out work in process environments. Training is usually carried out on site by our training specialists, with clients taking the opportunity to tailor the course to suit their way of working and reinforcing particular messages. 

In addition, RAP has a training area on the system which mirrors the main plant and where users can produce risk assessments, permits and isolations ready for validation.  When they are ready, the users can then be given their full live competencies.

Our trainers are also called onto site during heavy work periods (e.g. turnarounds) to provide additional training to temporary staff or provide support to existing staff.

 

 Installation

Our experienced employees will install the package on site when you have decided on which system is suitable to your company.  We will ensure that all of your rules and procedural requirements are assimilated by the system.  In addition, we will ensure that the people charged with running the system will have the chance to contribute their knowledge and experience for inclusion into the program.  Because of RAP’s unique flexibility and because we have done many installations, this process is relatively simple.  Very quickly, employees will be able to see their plant represented on their screens and recognise their local controls on the system.  Soon they will be producing risk assessments and permits of their own and beginning the all-important process of establishing ownership for themselves.

 

Installations of various software packages are available. Including: -

  • Server installation - Windows Server 2003 (or Linux)

  • Database installation - Oracle, SQL Server or MS Access 2000

  • Client Installation - Installing software and shortcuts

  • RAP will run via traditional client server applications or over the web.  The choice is yours.

 

Support

RAP has been operating now for many years and in that time has produced over three-quarters of a million permits.  When you add in the training permits then the figure is well over one million.  This has lead to the production of a very robust system.  In addition, RAP monitors its own performance in terms of speed, levels of usage and database considerations.  This information is sent back to our offices and we can take action before the user detects anything untoward with the system.  This drastically reduces client reliance upon outside support.  When it is required, then of course our personnel can respond quickly and efficiently.  And remember, our focus on giving all of our programmers' control of work experience means that they can home in on solutions in double-quick time.
